The Economic Literacy Crisis

The Economic

Literacy Crisis

1

Currently, economic literacy is declining amongst young Australians.

A 2023 RBA report shows that younger adults aged 18-24; unemployed individuals; and those without tertiary education had lower levels of economic literacy.

2

Similarly, high school economics enrolment is plummeting in NSW

In 1992, almost 30% of all HSC students studied economics.

Today, just 8% of students study economics
